Sadhu Basant Residential Care (SBRC) is an institution
aimed at providing permanent residential facilities for
persons with mild or moderate mental handicap.
SADHU was born in 1914, and joined the British Indian
Army during Second World War. BASANT, two years his
junior, married him in the year 1934. A son was born in
1936 and a daughter in 1948. Sadhu and Basant are
representative of ordinary Indian husband and wife, who
work hard, educate and bring up their children and are
satisfied with their small achievements.
This foundation is a tribute to them and through them to
the ordinary Indian. "Sadhu" is a symbol of simplicity,
purity and sincerity. "Basant" represents blooming
blossoms, happiness and joy.
